  Well this was a nice surprise on this rainy, cold afternoon.  It's located in the heart of Pelion. The Smoak House has BBQ and Ribs among  other meaty delights. They have home cooked vegetables and grandmas Mac n cheese. To top it off, they have a nice salad bar that includes pastas, German potato salad, a desert bar with everything from cobblers, puddings, fruit, and multiple ice creams to choose from. All of this for just 9.99.
  
  They also offer to go ordering, as well has made to order grill, a breakfast buffet. If you like you can get a meat and 3 vegetables or sides for just 7.99. Nice large portions and a very friendly wait staff. The new owner is a nice fella who interacts with his customers. It's kind of like eating at a good southern mamas kitchen. Can't beat the food, price or friendly places. Worth the trip out to Pelion.

  I'm a little disappointed by Smoak House. They have a breakfast buffet, so I stopped by on my way to GA a few weekends back. The buffet was reasonably priced, so I decided to get that instead of ordering off the menu. Problem was that the buffet was out of most everything; my fault for not looking before ordering it. They have sausage gravy, but no biscuits to put it on. I asked if they were going to put out more biscuits and they said no, that they were done cooking biscuits for the day; at 7:30ish in the morning. The bacon was burnt and crumbly. The rest of the food that they had in stock was good, but I really wanted a biscuit with some greasy gravy on it.
  Service from my waitress was good; she was friendly and kept my cup full.

  The restaurant seems a little dirty at times and the buffet is good and reasonably priced the subs are good. I just feel as if its unsatisfactory the booths decor and televisions feel like the 90's and honestly the staff is not friendly hardly ever and are rude every once and a while depending on your server. But when you do get a good one tip well it wont happen agian if you dont.

  Food sucks sits out on the bar all day inside looks dirty and nasty they do over charge will not be back
